The Palace retained all
the paraphernalia of a royal abode like the Durbar hall, sepoy lines,
mahavathkhana and so forth.
The royalties of Hathwa along with their family members and courtiers
used to come to this holy land of Shiva regularly and spend months in
this millennia old city. With the passage of time, the royal estates
began losing their sheen. This palace, too, remained neglected for
years after the Independence.
The scenic beauty of Holy
Ganges river at Varanasi had enchanted the erst while - rulers of "Hathwa
Raj" in Bihar to construct this palace during the middle of 19th
century for their 'Kashi bash'.
With the passage of time
and for suitable utilisation, the old palace is now a Pallavi
International Hotel a Heritage class depicting the ancient Indian
culture with its paintings ,carvings ,and antiques.
The palace (Hotel) is
located in the heart of the town in huge campus full of greeneries
with complete peaceful surroundings having very easy accessibility
